Beverly Bandits PW # 1 Team go to the Final in the Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament!!
The Beverly Bandits played 4 very good teams this past week-end and went 3-1-1 going to the final vs the undefeated Delhi Rockets!!
In the first game vs the Richmond Hill Kings ,Beverly came out hard and outshot the opponent only to be tied in the 3rd 1-1 before blowing the game open with 3 goals to take the game 4-1.In the next Friday game Beverly played the undefeated Delhi Rockets and in a back and forth affair which was rough and very tight the game ended 4-4.
On Saturday the Bandits played another very good team in the Valley East Vipers.This was another back and forth game which the Bandits took 4-3.
Sunday mornings first game was a game vs the Stittsville Rams.The Bandits took control early and Blanketed the Rams all game winning 6-1.
In the final on Sunday afternoon Beverly faced the Delhi Rockets again.Beverly took a 1-0 lead early only to have the Rockets tie it up later in the 1st.The next 2 periods went scoreless with great goaltending,excellent defence and outstanding rushes from both teams.The game went into overtime and in the 3rd overtime period playing 2 on 2 the Bandits hit the post from in close only to have Delhi score in the 4th overtime session playing 1 on 1 to beat Beverly.This was a great game by 2 great teams!!!!
Congratulations to the entire Bandits team.Everly player on the team played hard and very well the entire 5 games and everyone made a great contribution to the teams success.The entire coaching staff was very pleased with this Great effort that was put out !!
Congratulations also go out to our Game MVP,S as follows,Rhys Morley(Richmond Hill)Cameron Andree(Delhi)Matthew Nyeman(Valley East) and co-winners Adam Lugowski and Colin Racz (Delhi Final)(no one was chosen in the Stittsville game)Rhys Morley,our Captain was also chosen our Team MVP for the tournament!!!
