Congrats to our PeeWee Bandits who participated in the
Ayr PeeWee LL Challenge this weekend. All of our Bandits played with great heart – the effort level continues to be the story! Their team work and sportsmanship was noticed beyond their proud parents and coaching staff. Way to represent your center and yourselves!
The wins of the weekend were truly a shared effort as each Bandit brought their skill set and their versatility to each game. As Coach Max said, "At times it may have looked easy but I'll be the first to say – nothing is easy without effort!" and that is what every player gave in buckets!
The PeeWee Bandits cruised undefeated into the semi-final game against the New Hamburg Huskies #1 Sunday morning, following wins against
Ayr 1 (9-0),
Paris (5-1) and
Ayr 2 (8-2). The semi-final game matched two strong teams and the result was an extremely competitive, exciting game that came up tied 1-1. The game was decided by a 4-on-4 overtime period and then a shoot out. The loss was hard but our PeeWee Bandits should be so very proud!!
A big Bandit thank you to our AP Goalie,
Cameron Book, for stepping into our Saturday games against Ayr and Paris. He had big skates to fill with Flynn away but with true Book style, did so calmly. Cam was honoured by being awarded MVP for the Saturday afternoon game against Ayr 2.
Way to go Bandits! Thanks to the great support from our families who cheered us on all weekend long.
